So I’m cutting back on television because it makes me anxious. Granted, paperclips make me anxious, but this is different. It shouldn’t be too hard to wean myself since I don’t actually own a television. I’ll still watch the handful of shows that I really like when they come out once a week on Hulu. But trolling for hours of mindless entertainment – cerebral packing foam, really – leaves me feeling more exhausted. When I get home from work, all I want to do is turn on some cartoons, but I don’t feel any more relaxed after watching them. Conversely, when I read after work, though it takes more effort at first, I feel better all around. Revived, even. So yes to books, no to Family Guy.
